InclusionWorks! provides an individualized, age appropriate, community-based program for young adults with developmental disabilities.
InclusionWorks! is a model of community inclusion and collaboration developed by and for families of young adults with developmental disabilities who are eligible for CLBC support. Relying less on “traditional” service provision, IW families have opted for Individualized Funding from CLBC and we promote effective community inclusion through a family governance model.
Inclusion Works! began in Victoria BC. Working with a wide range of community-based partners, they created programming with the aim of building experience, independence and inclusion for each participant. Currently, activities run seven hours daily, five days a week with a focus on employment, life skills and inclusion in community in every way.
Since the first group started, two more Victoria-area groups have started, a group has started in North Vancouver and others across BC are now exploring the idea.
The InclusionWorks! families would like to warmly thank The Community Living
